AMLC is pleased to welcome John Trueman as an Associate
AMLC is pleased to announce that John Trueman has joined our firm as an associate.
Prior to attending law school, John worked for over a decade on the Indian Residential Schools Settlement Agreement, including the last nine years as Senior Policy and Strategic Advisor to the Chief Adjudicator. After graduating law school, John clerked for the Honourable Justice Sheilah L. Martin at the Supreme Court of Canada. He then worked in private practice before joining AMLC. He has worked with individuals, small businesses, and non-profit organizations to find practical and cost-effective solutions to litigation and employment law problems. He also has experience in administrative, constitutional, Aboriginal and information/privacy law and has appeared in the British Columbia and Ontario Courts of Appeal.
We are excited to have John join our team.

Articling students, Chloe Trudel and Tanner Gervin, join AMLC
AMLC is excited to welcome its new articling students, Chloe Trudel and Tanner Gervin, to the team. Prior to joining AMLC, Chloe obtained her law degree from Peter A. Allard School of Law, during which she volunteered and worked for the Indigenous Community Legal Clinic and participated in the Kawaskimhon Moot. Tanner recently graduated with his JD from Thompson Rivers University (TRU). At TRU, Tanner volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada and was one of the founding members of the TRU Business Law Society (BLS). During his time with the BLS, Tanner acted as club president and co-host of the BLS podcast. Both Chloe and Tanner will be completing their articles with the firm until May 2023.
Congratulations to AMLC’s Articled Student, Victoria Baylis
Congratulations to AMLC’s Victoria Baylis who was called to the bar on May 16. Victoria obtained her law degree from the Peter A. Allard School of Law, during which she competed in the Jessup Moot. Before graduating, Victoria also worked for the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program, West Coast Environmental Law and the Rise Women’s Legal Centre. Victoria will join the firm as an associate in September!
Summer student, Katelyn Chaudhary, joins Allen McMillan
AMLC is excited to welcome its new summer student, Katelyn Chaudhary, to the team. Katelyn is a second-year law student at Thompson Rivers University, where she volunteered for the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program and completed a placement with Kamloops Pride for Pro Bono Students Canada. Katelyn will complete her summer articles with the firm from May to August 2022.
