Meet Jorie Les, our returning Associate!

AMLC is pleased to announce that Jorie Les has returned to AMLC as an associate.

Prior to joining AMLC, Jorie articled and practiced at both national and regional law firms. She worked with AMLC from 2018 to 2020, after which she took a position with the British Columbia Securities Commission. She brings a wealth of experience in a wide variety of civil litigation matters, including administrative law, regulatory investigations, and commercial disputes involving complex contractual and tort claims. Jorie has appeared at all levels of court in British Columbia, as well as the Supreme Court of Canada.

Congratulations to AMLC’s Alex Mok on being called to the bar!

Congratulations to AMLC’s Alex Mok who was called to the British Columbia bar on January 8, 2024.

Alex joined AMLC after finishing his Master of Laws at UBC. Before that, he spent over eight years as a lawyer with various global law firms in Hong Kong, where he maintained a broad practice of civil and commercial disputes.

We are happy to have Alex join us as an associate of AMLC!

Meet Alex Mok

AMLC is pleased to announce that Alex Mok has joined our team.

Alex recently moved to Canada and finished his Master of Laws at the Allard School of Law. He has eight years of experience as a lawyer with various global law firms in Hong Kong. During that time, he maintained a broad practice of civil and commercial disputes. Alex speaks both Cantonese and Mandarin. He will article with us for four months before he is called to the British Columbia bar.

Joel V. Payne is joining AMLC as Counsel

AMLC is pleased to announce that Joel V. Payne is joining AMLC as Counsel. He is an experienced trial and appeals lawyer who most recently ran his own firm for five years. He has represented clients in every level of court in Canada, and comes with a wealth of knowledge on complex corporate/commercial litigation, property and contract disputes. Joel also has a deliberately tech-forward and modern approach to his practice, which we are excited to continue building at AMLC.
